Our identity

A grassroots institution with a wide development mandate.

Established in 2014, Ballsy Group Foundation is a non-political, non-communal and non-profit society headquartered in Jorhat, Assam.

We work alongside people who are too often excluded from opportunity—rural women, small and marginal farmers, artisans, children, youth, tea-growing communities and socially disadvantaged groups. Our role is to connect their aspirations with knowledge, skills, institutions, technology, finance and markets.

What began as a community-focused organization has grown into a multidisciplinary development platform spanning sustainable agriculture, Farmer Producer Organizations, women-led enterprise, education, skills, MSME competitiveness, handloom and handicrafts, health, environment, biodiversity, science and technology, disaster response and cultural preservation.

We do not see communities as beneficiaries alone. We see them as co-creators of change—capable of leading institutions, building enterprises, protecting natural resources and shaping a more equitable future.

Why we exist

Dignity is the destination. Capability is the path.

Our mission and vision place education, economic participation, gender justice and community self-reliance at the centre of development.

01

Our mission

To empower underprivileged children, youth and women through relevant education, skills, responsive social support and market-focused livelihood programmes; to build the capacities of rural communities; and to connect marginalized people with institutions, government programmes and pathways to self-reliance.

02

Our vision

An equitable and inclusive society where no person is excluded because of religion, caste, gender, disability or economic circumstance; where every child can learn, every woman can exercise her rights and agency, and every rural family can access dignified, sustainable livelihood opportunity.

Our way of working

The TRIC framework.

Our annual reports describe a participatory model that keeps communities involved from the first conversation to the final review. It helps programmes remain relevant, locally owned and accountable.

Control mechanism

Review progress, strengthen accountability, learn from results and adapt interventions for sustainable impact.
